Back to the Drawing Board

You may remember that I built an Elevator for 48

It has not survived.

But it was well-used.

I think I just have to use a cardboard box in the proper size or ask my kids what they suggest.   Or try to find a plastic box in the right size and use Omnistick glue to attach a door.

P.S.  Somebody get some clothes for that poor guy in the living room!

  1. Oh dear. Maybe you could reuse the wood but add some ribbon glued on the edges to help hold it? Or some metal brackets over the corners?

    1. The metal bracket idea is a good idea! Also, I realized that the mat board has held up better than the balsam wood, so maybe I will make a new one of that - with metal brackets.

  2. I like the metal bracket idea. You can find the small metal corners that cover the 3 points at Home Depot. And you can get construction adhesive in a mini squeeze tube in the glue section. I'm a construction adhesive junkie. Excessive? Yes, but it's rock solid (wear gloves!).

Or a quick trip to ikea and find a little wood box?

    1. I will look for those brackets - and for construction adhesive - I haven't heard of that before. Thanks!
