New Year, New Elevator Attempt.
I took the advice of Kitty and Kat Miniatures and Shenandoah and stuff who gave some great suggestions after they saw the destroyed elevator, and it has been reinforced with metal triangles and glued with E6000.
And we stuck a rod through it so that it would stay close to the wall. It seems to be working much better.
And here is another view of the house.
At some point, I have to figure out what to do with the front of the house. Since this house has grown from its original design, I am not really sure what to do as the front for the top 2 floors. I bought a plexiglass wall, so I may create a little track for it to slide in, but then the track may get in the way of playing.
I also have to attach the front bottom wall, which was made with some extra Malibu dolls house windows (I broke one and then ordered the wrong replacement. Don't ask.).
Anyway, here is the elevator stopping at the third floor.
Have a great weekend!
Yay! Dolls are no longer stuck on the first floor! Good for you. I'll bet the rod really helps stabilize it since it won't be swinging around.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a huge help, although the next repair will probably be to change it to a metal pole. I'm not sure the wood is going to hold it. Thank you again for all your advice!!
